come and see

Is it for me?

Read what Leslie, one of our guests, experienced at Dumas Bay in October of 2018!

As I came into the weekend, I resolved to stay open-minded and just let whatever was going to happen with me, happen. To just stick my toe in. To come and see what this was all about.

The weekend slowly, but inexorably, re-opened my heart to our loving God and God's desires of us and for us. The design of the workshops, spiritual talks followed by table exercises, gently broke down barriers of reserve within and among the tables of participants.

It is important to me, as a Christian, to be able to speak deeply with others who share my desires and longing to just be - be with others, be with myself, and be with the great I Am. The structure of the weekend allowed me both the opportunity to share deeply with the incredible women at my table and to "retreat" to my room or to the beautiful grounds to process what I had heard and how and why it was moving me.

The beauty of our Episcopalian services was used to gather us around prayer, praise, scripture, song (very important to me), and Eucharist.

The love that was demonstrated by the clergy, coordinator, volunteers, and even the staff of the center was uplifting and was only a piece of the overall love of the weekend with prayers being offered for us continually around the world. That knowledge was overwhelming.

It's all about Love. It's all about Love.
